Identification: Biennial; flowers July to September. Grows up to 7 ft tall. Rosette leaves ovid to oblong, mature leaves opposite, large, oblong and prickly. Upper stem leaves irregularly lobed. Stems tall and prickly. Flowers small, white and packed into ovate heads. Common teasel is similar, but has purple flowers and no lobes on upper leaves. Limited distribution in Oregon.

Impacts: Weedy in wetlands, riparian habitat, roadsides and waste areas. Closely resembles common teasel in appearance and site preference, but is far less common in Oregon.

Biological Controls: No approved biological control agent is currently available.
