Identification: Perennial; flowers June to August. Grows 4 to 18 inches tall with extensive creeping rootstocks. Leaves lanceolate, coarsely toothed and deeply lobed. Flowers inconspicuous and yellow. Fruit a light brown bur with spines. This species is not yet known to occur in Oregon.

Impacts: Skeletonleaf bursage grows in cultivated fields, pastures and waste areas in several western states and survives under varied soil moisture conditions.

Biological Controls: Biological control agents are not used on "A" listed weeds in Oregon. If this weed is found in the state it will be managed for eradication or containment.
